The www, is well, world-wide and that makes the blogosphere essentially boundary-less with infinite possiblities.

So, i was surfing, clicking, reading and clicking somemore and chanced upon some awesome reads. Hope you’ll enjoy their posts like I did – happy reading 🙂

What I Wore

Starting off as a fashion designer, Jessica Quirk found herself focusing much on her daily outfits, and that sparked the idea of monetizing her site which primarily showcased her everyday fashion. With 3yr old What I Wore, Jessica has recently launched her first book (What I Wore: Four Seasons, One Closet, Endless Recipes for Personal Style) a few days back! Definitely an inspiration to those chasing their dreams and/or planning to blog full time!

Gala Darling

If you read her articles, you’ll know that this fiesty, energizer bunny radiates 101% positivity for life and self-love. From crazy site traffic, to giving speeches at events, as well as being featured in print publications such as The New York Times, The Daily Telegraph and Cosmopolitan, nothing’s gonna stop this multi-hyphenated Gala Darling! With a book in Podcast format (Love & Sequins) under her belt, she shares inspirational and motivataional reads on being a woman and surviving the modern world!

This busy mum of 3 has her hands full and even set time to dive into the kitchen to whip up yummy food for the family. The motivational factor for Katie’s blog is NOT (surprise, surprise!) her love for cooking but because at that time she was at a loss with her “self”. Having enjoyed writing throughout her studies, starting Chaos in the Kitchen became 2nd nature and soon, everyday fuzz like cooking or washing for the family, turned into creative posts and recipes sharing! Kudos to her!

Full-time photographers, Todd and Diane, share their adventures on food, photography, cooking, travel and their garden blooms (yes, freshly grown in their own garden – how nice!) at White On Rice Couple. Professionally captured shots adorn the simple site, and you’re on your way to a droolsome journey with their multi-cultural recipes which you could whip up at home! Time to put on my kitchen gloves… 🙂

The brainchild of a group of twntysmthg from Singapore, this new magazine-style site tackles all-things Singapore, ranging from Mama Shops to bus stops. With topics foraying into segments such as 1,000 Ways to Die, that’s an indicator to tell if you belong in this generation 😉 Keep going, you guys! Proud to discover this up-and-coming gem!

Yours truly, twntysmthg/f/SG.

:: My Verdict::

Soup: Fresh and warm caramelized onion soup, served with cheese on Baguette. Lip-smacking goodness! (3.5/5)

Entrée: Absolute loves for the escargots seasoned with aromatic garlic and sweet tomatoes. Perfect marriage! (5/5)

Entrée: Delightful fresh salad with unique combi of cheese, tomatoes and pear. Nice warm-up for the palates (4.5/5)Mains: Hub had the Special of the Day - Pork Cutlet. Tender and juicy meat, though slightly fatty for my liking. Hub had no complaints though. (3.5/5)Mains: My choice was the Rib-eye Steak - tastes better than it looks, well-tenderized and yummy! Served with crispy skinny fries. (4/5)Dessert: Hub’s clever choice of Fried banana with ice cream and raspberry sauce (it’s actual name is better-sounding – I just cant recall it) won our hearts. Hot, sweet banana with cold ice cream – you’ll never go wrong! Tad sweet though with the sauce. Great for the sweet tooth. (4.5/5)Mains: Hub had the Special of the Day - Pork Cutlet. Tender and juicy meat, though slightly fatty for my liking. Hub had no complaints though. (3.5/5)

Dessert: The meringue with mixed berries was too sweet for me, but the sour bit from the berries lessened the sweetness. Will try the cheesecake that other diner have been raving about. (3/5)

Good grief!
The lackof updates is making me ashame! If you’re still reading this, thanks so much!
It’s nice to know that the daily stats are not at kosong (aka zero in Malay) despite the absence.

So, what happened?

I’m STILL gorging myself silly with food and actively snapping yummy food to post up. Haha… no less! Unfortunately, i’ve been robbed of time due to work as well as personal stuff such as our wedding! YUP! I’m officially officially a MRS now. muahahaha! And with the kind of crazy preps to do before our BIG day, our weekends are mostly burned from running around getting things (i.e. burning a hole in the pocket e.g. buying things for 过大礼, gown fittings, getting guests to RSVP blah blah blah), so yeah. Hope I’m forgiven! *puss in boots’ eyes*

And the Saga continues…

Nontheless, some quickie updates from where we left off.

Singapore’s 45th National Day!

Special thank you to J, for the premium VVIP passes! 🙂

Dressed in Red, the spectators and us baking in the fierce fireball up there!

The brave skydivers who soared the clear blue skies, making perfect lands at the Floating Platform. Thumbs up!

Corinne May belting out the official NDP 2010 song!

Fireworks galore! Unfortunately, my camera died on me towards the middle of the show. OMG!

An Encounter with a Handsome Lad

My friend, SL, brought her baby along for our dinner gathering. Prince Lucas!

 Sweet Morning Surprise

The Hub woke me up 1 morning, led a blurry eyed moi to the dining table laid with 2 plates of piping hot American breakfast and out of nowhere appears 3 stalks of deep red roses! ❤ ❤ ❤

 Mom’s Marvellous Spree

Went shopping with Mum for an evening dress for the BIG day and brought her to ALT@Heeren. Boy, it's like a ghost town on a weekend, can you imagine?! Mum couldnt find a perfect dress but instead got herself 2 pairs of stylo mylo shoes! *buries my face in shame*

Claypot Tofu was yummylicious! The Chef captured the perfect balance to tantalise tastebuds. YUMS!Tea Cosy - Comfort Food @ Cozy Corner Hub had the Beef Steak Burger of sorts (sorry, can't recall the exact name!). The nicely marinated meat was juicy and tender. Thumbs up 🙂

Moi had the Chicken Chop, which was succulent and not too heavy. Wiped out everything on the plate 😉

Piping hot claypot of Seafood Crab Bee Hoon Soup served right up! SHIOKas treat especially on a rainy day. Was a tad too much for the both of us; ideally to share with 3 pax if you're gonna order side dishes too. Else, you might get a little jerlat.

The other stylo pair by Steve Madden. Previous pair was a Nine West.

1 for 1 Offer on Magnums!! GRAB AH! Sold like hot cakes literally. Only at Cheers though.

The next morning, we checked out of MBS and headed for Dim Sum @ Happy Restaurant. Located just next to Lion City Hotel, which is famous for its Claypot Rice, Nonya High Tea and yummy Peranakan Food, its coffee lounge used to be a regular haunt of the family when I was still a kid. Initially, I had wanted the Hub to try the famed Claypot Rice, but alas! It was the Nonya High Tea time, so, maybe next time.

Hub's Century Egg Porridge. Tasty but it comes in small bowls, so if this is your kinda thing, you'd have to order a few bowls 😉

Fried Beancurd with Seafood. Piping hot, crispy and oh-so-yummy!

Lo Bo Gao aka Panfried Carrot Cake. Traditional authentic flavours. Love its original untainted taste; definitely a nostalgic experience 😉

Xiao Long Bao! Piping hot and juicy soup in there. Skin was a tad thick though.

Hub's fave, Feng Zua. Translated as Phoenix's Claws aka Chicken Feet. Yikes, not for me.

After filling our tum tums, off to prepare for our kite flying session with the gang, at the Marina Barrage. With its large open space, this spot is highly popular with family, groups of friends and the likes for an afternoon of kite flying. As expected, the place was mad crowded! Could hardly locate a proper spot to start flying. Well, that kinda sums up what Singaporeans get up to during the weekends and Public Holidays.

Magnificent skyline view of the MBS against the bright blue sky with cotton clouds. It was a scorching hot day 🙂

The view up there.

Our poor kite got stuck there. Sigh. Worse, it was a borrowed one from his sister.... oh no....

Snacks, courtesy of Weijun whose sister was celebrating her 21st. Aren't they lovely?

Yummy bites from the birthday girl. Cookies & Cream Cheesecake, Chocolate Brownie, Scones & more! We were spoilt by this pleasant surprise!

My apologies for the lackof posts lately! Been tolling at least 11hr workdays, as well as juggling personal matters at the same time. Thank you for your patience!

Nevertheless, here’s the long-awaited post since Explore: Marina Bay Sands (Part I)! 🙂

A bird’s eye view of the awe-inspiring architectural gem, the Sands SkyPark.

Most of us might have already heard of the iconic structure atop the MBS towers. This unique masterpiece is a distinct feature of a ship. I was curious to find out why a ship was in place, so i googled and here’s what churned out: According to the IQPC FPSO, Singapore progressed from being a small regional ship repair and building centre, transforming to a world-class hub for international trade and offshore operations it is today. Hence, the “ship” is a highly apt symbol to represent Singapore, in terms of economic evolution.

On the other hand, it might also be a feng shui belief, to roll in the moolah. Apparently, a sailing ship symbolises wealth. Definitely a more suitable choice compared to other elements such as Chinese Ingots or Koi Fish, right?

Did you know?

The Sands SkyPark stretches LONGER than the Eiffiel Tower laid down or four and a half A380 Jumbo Jets, with an impressive 12,400 square meters of space, the Sands SkyPark can host up to 3900 people! Hope over to the Marina Bays Sands Official Site to read more!

The Sky Pool at the SkyPark. Awesome spectacular view definitely. Looks and feels as if you're swimming at the edge. Not really for the faint hearted or height phobic ones though.

Sunbathers and swimmers enjoying the breeze, warm water and the public stares 😉

View from the other side. The many ships and boats at sea 🙂

That's Gardenasia in progress! Slated to be an eco-garden, this is gonna add more greenery to the urban community in the MBS area 🙂

Happy people dipping in the hot jacuzzi pool. Whee!

We could see the Floating Platform from the other end 😉

Indoors architectural grooves within the hotel. Asymmetrical lines. Pity the cleaners though.

More lines!

Dinnertime! Off to Jin Shan, for a Chinese dinner.

Appetizer: Sweetened Tau Pok with Carrot. Something new for me. Instead of the usual braised peanuts.

Dad's Boiled Soup of Minced Meat. Tasty but personally felt that the meat taste was kinda strong.

Service staff preparing our Peking Roasted Duck!

Crispy Peking Roasted Duck 😉

Coffee Honey Pork Ribs. Nice marination. Pork lovers would love them better.

My Hot & Sour Soup. It was really hot, sour PLUS quite spicy!

There's the duck! Fried Duck Meat wrapped with Fresh crunchy Lettuce. YUMS! But a tad saltish on its own but goes great with the lettuce 😀

Stir-fried Asparagus with Garlic. Refreshingly crunchy; love the garlicky taste!

Indoors view during the night....

After dining, we went out from the Shopping Promenade to venture around. This fantastic view was just great! With National Day fast approaching, i felt a strong sense of pride and felt proud of our home country. Happy belated Birthday, Singapore! ❤

Whilst we were soaking in the night scene with the bustling crowd out there with us, the next thing we all knew - FIREWORKS!! What a splendid surprise! We reckoned it was some YOG affair, as there was some event of sorts going on at the floating platform. Nice way to end the night 😀
